Barry is an ecohydraulics and environmental engineer specializing in aquatic habitats, hydraulics, and physical processes. His technical expertise includes hydraulic and hydrological engineering, river engineering, instream flow analyses, fish habitat modeling, fish passage assessment and design, and fish screening and exclusion systems.
He is also experienced in applying advanced models, tools, and methodologies to assess and mitigate the impacts of water and land use on physical and biological systems, complemented by practical design and construction experience in aquatic ecosystem restoration, fish passage, and effects mitigation. Barry manages projects across Canada, the US, and Brazil, with a focus on integrating aquatic biology and hydrotechnical engineering to support habitat restoration and mitigate dam impacts. A recent project involved assessing dam operational effects and designing detailed fish habitat mitigation measures below the Site C Clean Energy Project
