Wind & Atmospheric Modelling
Lasalle | NHC performs wind, snow control, and air pollution studies in a special hydraulic flume that is part of our lab's permanent facilities. We also carry out numerical modelling, give technical opinions based on drawings submitted by architects and urban planners, and act as an expert witness in court cases.
We study conditions such as the transport of solids and fluids in the wind, assess wind impacts on urban areas for pedestrian comfort and building loads, and simulate snow transport to evaluate roof loads and snow entrainment in intakes.
