Erik is a river engineering and hydraulic specialist with expertise in stream stabilization, bank protection, and restoration design. His experience includes the design of engineered log jams on large rivers, restored channels, and stream stabilization and bank protection projects across numerous streams in Washington and Oregon. He has also designed fish-passable culverts and habitat-friendly sediment basins throughout the Northwest.

In addition to his design work, Erik is a recognized expert in fluvial geomorphology and fish habitat assessment, having conducted numerous studies on channel migration, sediment transport, and habitat restoration. He is also experienced in floodplain management, including large coastal modeling and mapping studies in Alaska and Washington, as well as riverine and interior drainage studies for FEMA. Erik has extensive experience in topographic and bathymetric surveys, construction oversight, 1D and 2D numerical modeling, project management, and stakeholder and agency coordination.
