Brian specializes in river engineering and hydraulic design. With a strong technical background, he approaches problems with a firm understanding of the underlying processes. Brian also has experience working with diverse project stakeholder groups to develop consensus on effective, efficient, and practical solutions through effective and open communication.  His design project experience includes bank protection, fish passage, fish screening, and diversion structures in addition to floodplain habitat and tidal marsh restoration.

Brian’s technical experience includes numerical modeling, physical modeling, instream hydraulic monitoring, topographic surveying, and bathymetric surveying. His numerical modeling experience includes the use one and two dimensional numerical hydrodynamic and sediment transport models for the analysis of both in-stream and tidal marsh sedimentation processes, and for modeling the long-term effects of hydraulic structures on channel stability.
