David has over 40 years of experience in sedimentation, river hydraulics, river engineering, fluvial geomorphology, and hydrology. He has worked on projects across Western Canada, the US, and internationally in Bangladesh, the Philippines, China, Egypt, Guyana, Peru, and Trinidad.

His career spans both research and consulting, with a focus on the Lower Fraser River, assessing erosion, channel instability, sediment transport, and designing mitigation solutions. David has also conducted river engineering and geomorphic studies on some of the world’s largest rivers, including the Yangtze, Nile, and Padma-Meghna. He has extensive experience assessing flood hazards using numerical models and designing hydraulic structures such as dikes, river training works, and sediment control measures.
