Vaughn has extensive experience in hydraulic modeling and the design of flood hazard reduction and habitat restoration projects on large river systems. His technical expertise includes 1D and 2D modeling of complex flood control and habitat restoration projects using tools such as RMA-2, River2D, Flo2D, SRH-2D, Telemac, HEC-RAS, and FEQ. Vaughn has designed numerous levees, habitat restoration projects, and streambank protection works across estuaries and rivers throughout the Pacific Northwest. He also brings additional experience in floodplain mapping, geomorphic analysis, scour evaluations, and construction supervision, contributing to resilient and sustainable river system designs.
