Chris is a hydraulic and hydrologic engineer with extensive experience in modeling, hydraulic design, and habitat restoration. Over the past two decades, he has developed hydraulic models to support instream flow studies, delineate regulatory floodplain limits, design and assess engineered logjams, evaluate bridge hydraulics and scour, and support bank and road stabilization projects.

In addition to building and overseeing hydraulic models, Chris has designed, stamped, and provided construction oversight for large-scale river protection works, as well as smaller creek projects throughout Washington and southern British Columbia. He has led multiple floodplain mapping projects and has expertise in topographic and bathymetric surveys using total station and GPS-based equipment. Proficient in Civil 3D, Chris also initiated NHC’s drone program and is an FAA-certified remote pilot with an sUAS rating. While his early work focused on physical modeling, his current focus is on hydraulic design and assessment using advanced numerical models.
