Andrew is a nationally certified professional geologist with extensive experience leading projects that address complex river and creek management challenges. He specializes in fluvial geomorphology, applying quantitative methods to understand how variable hydrology, large wood, and sediment supply influence sediment transport and channel form.
Andrew has conducted geomorphic investigations on more than 300 streams, primarily in the Pacific Northwest, ranging from small alpine watersheds to Asia’s largest rivers. He provides river process expertise with a focus on geologic time- and spatial-scales to support NHC’s river engineering, habitat restoration, and flood hazard projects across the west coast of North America, as well as internationally in Bangladesh and Brazil.
